Students everywhere have been using professional essay writing services to write their term papers for them...yet, is this practice really ethical? I guess it simply depends on who you ask- the popular opinion seems to lean toward it being an unethical practice for a number of reasons. However, the issues of it being ethical or not in the academic community today might not be such an important consideration as one might think- especially when it comes to a student's grades.
Certainly no one would argue that writing a term paper is a time consuming and sometimes tedious task especially when you consider the very busy life of a student at any academic level. Yet, most people believe that if you purchase your paper from an essay service it is not only unethical, it is considered downright cheating. Buying your essay from a service is also not fair to the countless other students who struggle to write their papers on their own-(yet manage to get them done). Receiving a better grade for the ones you buy just doesn't seem ethical when your academic 'standing' will be a result of the grades you earn on these essay papers throughout your academic career.
Essay papers are assigned to students as an instructor's way of ensuring a student has mastered the material covered in the course and as a means to verify if a student can further explore and investigate that knowledge outside the classroom and then articulate their findings in essay form. Considering that the essay papers you turn in will count as a large percentage of your grade, why would you leave the task of writing your essay to a quite possibly unrepuatable writing service that might provide you with shoddy work that contains plagiarism? And of course, there is always a chance you could get caught which could have serious consequences for your standing in the academic community, as well as result in being expelled.
In all fairness though, there are a couple reasons a student would want, and benefit from, help writing their essays- lack of time because of other commitments or an illness, as well as a lack of confidence in their writing skills are some very valid reasons for seeking help. If you merely seek out help in writing your essay paper rather than having a service complete an entire paper for you... that can be a different story. Certainly every student at one time or another would benefit from professional guidance and assistance in completing their papers correctly and on time for their deadline. So in these cases, it really doesn't seem as unethical to enlist the help from an online essay writing service.
So, as tempting as it might be to buy your essay online from a writing service, it generally would be considered to be unethical, but really... who is anyone to judge you or the circumstances of why you sought out help? I guess it all depends on your moral compass and your degree of need to seek out assistance in getting your paper completed on time so you don't fail a class. It could understandably be worth the risk- ethics or no ethics... you will just have to let your conscious be your guide.
